Acquiring Childcare space

Intent: 

This policy outlines the waitlist process for families applying to Casper's Early Learning Co-operative Centre. Casper's strives to make an effort to accommodate parents who are interested in having their child attend Casper's Early Learning Co-operative Centre.

Waitlist Application: 

To be placed on the Casper's waitlist an application must be filled out on our website. This application must be filled out accurately and entirely. The date the form is completed and submitted will be your placement date on Casper's waitlist.

Procedure: 

When Casper's receives an application for admission, the application is reviewed, filed, and added to the waitlist.

Casper's’s waitlist is systemized by the following:

• Registration date

• Age group:

  • Infant: 6 weeks-18 months

  • Toddler: 18 month-30 months

  • Preschool: 30 months-until end of Kindergarten

  • School-age: 6 years old - 12 years old

• Priority group

  • Internal: families that already belong to Casper's community

  • Siblings of children enrolled

• External: New families that want to join Casper's community

• Children of staff working at Casper's

• Active Board Members (Board Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, Secretary) at Casper's

Casper’s waitlist is prioritized by the following:

1. Current families enrolled at Casper's or returning from maternity/paternity leave

2. Children of full-time staff working at Casper's

3. Active Board Officer (Board Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, Secretary) at Casper's

4. All other children

Wait Times:

When a space becomes available, Casper's will conduct a Meet and Greet to tour the family. This is a time to ask questions and inquire about policies and curriculum. At this time, management will determine if the centre can meet the needs of the child.

We are unable to predict how quickly our waitlist will progress, therefore, we will not provide an approximate entry date when you apply.

Please ensure that the contact information you provide on the application is current. Children will remain on the list until your child has aged out of our program or you have asked to be removed.

Previously Registered:

If you have previously registered, please continue to email your confirmation every 6 months to remain on the waitlist. If we do not hear from you within 6 months of your waitlist entry, your name will be removed. If you no longer require childcare, please send us an email so we can remove you from the waitlist.

Casper's strives to maintain a respectful and positive environment for all families and staff. Any form of bullying, intimidation, or verbal abuse will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the waitlist
