My name is Kelli Valleau. I joined the board in January, 2026. I have one child who attends Casper's and I was interested in becoming more involved in supporting the staff, parents and caregivers, and the kids who attend. From my experience in roles as a recreation programmer and a teacher I am motivated to create inclusive, accessible opportunities for growth and learning.

Interested in Joining the Board?
Getting involved on a board is a way to find joy, passion, and friendships while enhancing the lives of others.
Casper's is currently looking to grow the board of directors by 2 members. We are an upbeat and passionate board/management team and we’d love to become even stronger with your help! Our goal is to become a more focused, productive, and efficient board to improve the success of the daycare. The assignment of more delegated and specific roles will be vital to our success. We feel that optimizing care for our children begins with strong leadership from above!
Time commitment includes 10 meetings per year (monthly, excluding July and August), ongoing participation in our board email and WhatsApp discussions when required, and doing other small tasks between meetings (5-10 hours/month). Our monthly meetings take place in the evenings of each month (7:00 – 9:30 p.m.). Board member terms can range from 2 year to multiple years.
The board comprises 5-9 volunteers who are responsible for collaborating to make the best decisions for the child care center. At least 51% of the volunteers must be parents with children registered at the center, while the remaining 49% can be any interested individuals. Staff members, even if they are parents, are not eligible for board membership.
Please email the Casper's Board of Directors if you are interested in being a part of the Casper's Board of Directors. No experience is necessary as we have a friendly and supportive group that will assist where needed, and board training will be provided. We look forward to hearing from you!
